Goa Vacation Packages
Goa as a city is a tourist's hub it welcomes people with open arms from all the backgrounds. Similarly in terms of culture too, it has well amalgamated the cultures of Mughals, Britishers and Portuguese. Therefore in terms of a basic culture there is none (on one hand); and on the other hand there is a balanced assimilation of various aspects that comes together. Therefore in terms of festivals, Goans celebrate not only Hindu festivals, rather Muslim and Christian festivals are also celebrated with equal zest and fervour. People here believe in being Goans first than to be segregated to any particular sects. There is always a spirit of harmony and splendour in each and every celebration here. The spirits of revelry, dance and music are intrinsic to all these festivals. Thus it actually makes sense to organize a Goa trip during the festive seasons.
Some of the celebrations and festival occasions of Goa are mentioned below:
Goa Carnival: This four day extravaganza in Goa takes place in the month of February. The major highlight of this festival is the singing, dancing and feasting that happens after a period of 40 days of Lent before Easter. There are parades held; in which people from varied cultures take part and they prepare floats that are made on various themes and representations. In the mornings there are street plays and feasting while in the evening there are wild dancing parties all over the place.
Sunburn Festival: Sun Burn Festival is a dance and music festival held annually in December on the Candolim beach. This festival spells a good conglomeration of music, dance, food, shopping and entertainment. It has been ranked as the 9th best festival in the world by CNN. Initiated in the year 2007, this festival is a maddening blend of music from artists around the world. With the amount of hype around this festival there are big international and Indian DJs; whose names are associated with this celebration. Thus catering to Indian as well as international tourism this festival can send the prices in Goa to skyrocket during this period.
